Working internationally

The Federation of Finnish Enterprises aims to promote entrepreneurship in the European Union, and other international bodies, mainly by influencing the actions of the Finnish government in the European Union. Additionally,
the federation influences European organisations and the EU institutions.

The Federation appoints prominent people from in charge of each business sector to follow international developments within their field of responsibility.

The Federation of Finnish Enterprises is a member of UEAPME, which the European umbrella organisation for SME federations, aims to monitor and influence EU legislation. UEAPME comprises enterprise organisations from all European Union member countries and accession countries. Key issues in the operation of UEAPME’s activities are influencing the European Parliament, the Council of Ministers and the European Commission.

Additionally UEAPME is one of the parties in the social dialogue preparations at EU level. It participates actively in the preparation of standards. The Federation of Finnish Enterprises enjoys good working relations with other Nordic enterprise federations. These federations organise a joint meeting each year to monitor developments across the Nordic countries. The Federation also has a representative the European Economic and Social Commitee.

Collaboration with the Entrepreneurs’ organisations around the Baltic Sea is important. In Russia our partner is the entrepreneurs’ organisation Opora. Through them our members also get help and contacts in operations on the Russian market. The longest cooperation traditions are with Företagarna in Sweden. Their organisation is similar to ours both in terms of structure and services offered to members.
