Municipal Barometer 2026
The Municipal Barometer is a survey conducted by Suomen Yrittäjät every two years. It examines cooperation between municipalities and entrepreneurs, as well as the state of local business policy at the national, regional and municipal levels.
The Municipal Barometer measures how successfully municipalities promote entrepreneurship. We examine entrepreneurs’ views on how business-friendly their home municipality is, what has been successful, and where there is a need for development.
Why should you respond to the survey?
- You can give feedback and evaluate your own municipality’s performance: what works well and what needs improvement?
- Municipalities receive valuable feedback on their operations, including zoning and permit processes.
- We, the entrepreneurs’ associations, gain information on the issues we need to influence on behalf of our members at the municipal level.
- Municipalities and municipally owned companies providing services to entrepreneurs receive important feedback from entrepreneurs on the business services they offer.
To ensure that the results genuinely reflect entrepreneurs’ opinions, it is important that every entrepreneur shares their perspective.
Respond and make an impact
The Municipal Barometer 2026 is open from 11 February to 16 March 2026. The survey can be completed in Finnish, Swedish or English. The results of the Municipal Barometer will be published in connection with the Municipal Leadership Seminar (Kunnallisjohdon seminaari) in Jyväskylä on 20 May 2026.
Completing the survey takes approximately 10 minutes. The survey is carried out in cooperation with Taloustutkimus.
