Suomen Yrittäjät is starting employment advice services for small businesses as a project of the Ministry of Employment and the Economy

In its supplementary budget of 2019, the Finnish government decided to award project funding to start employment advice services for small businesses. The Ministry has invited Suomen Yrittäjät to run the project. The goal is to help small business owners and single-person businesses interested in hiring hire employees.

The advice service will be provided until the end of 2021. Advisers will answer business owners’ questions about labour legislation and employment.

Janne Makkula, Vice President Labour Market and Legal Affairs at Suomen Yrittäjät, says, “It’s great that the ministry trusts the expertise Suomen Yrittäjät has in advisory services. The coronavirus crisis has pummelled both single-person businesses and employer entrepreneurs’ operations. When the recovery from this crisis begins, it’s important that business owners can get help with either hiring their first employees, rehiring old employees or hiring more staff.”

Legal advice on employment matters is available on weekdays between 08:00 and 16:00 by calling 09 229 224. The service has been up and running since 13 May 2020. Questions may also be emailed to neuvonta@yritystentyosuhdeneuvonta.fi. The project will also provide legal training on employment matters in webinars and training sessions.

The free advice service is available to all entrepreneurs. Assistance with legal disputes and compiling documents are not included in the project.

Comprehensive, popular Suomen Yrittäjät member advice in all legal situations continues as usual

The project of the Ministry of Employment and the Economy offers assistance specifically in employment matters.

“In addition, the extremely popular member advice service, which has proven irreplaceable during the coronavirus crisis, will continue as usual,” Makkula says.

The Suomen Yrittäjät member advice service serves member entrepreneurs in all legal matters as usual.

Single-person businesses and employer entrepreneurs can get help from the service in matters such as:

entrepreneurs’ social securitybusiness lawcontractstax insolvency environmental mattersmarket, industrial and competition law

“The employment advice service provided as a project of the Ministry of Employment and the Economy is not tasked with answering those questions,” Janne Makkula says.

The Suomen Yrittäjät advice service serves member entrepreneurs on weekdays between 08:00 and 18:00 on 09 229 222.
