Mari Laaksonen standing for chairperson of Suomen Yrittäjät representative council

Mari Laaksonen, chairperson of the Helsingin Yrittäjät local society, is standing for election to chairperson of the Suomen Yrittäjät representative council.

Mari Laaksonen, who currently serves as vice chairperson of the representative council, started her entrepreneurial career as a sole trader in 1999 when she was 23 years old. In 2003, the business became a limited company. The cleaning services company CleanMarin Oy now employs 25 people. In addition, Laaksonen is a business owner partner in a number of other companies.

Laaksonen got involved with Suomen Yrittäjät in 2009, and she has served as chairperson of Helsingin Yrittäjät since 2018. Before serving as vice chairperson of the representative council, Laaksonen served on the board of Suomen Yrittäjät.

The general assembly of Suomen Yrittäjät will meet in Tampere on 22 October. In addition to the chairperson of the representative council, the chairperson and vice chairpersons of Suomen Yrittäjät will be elected for the upcoming two-year term.

There are currently three candidates standing for election as Suomen Yrittäjät chairperson: incumbent Petri SalminenAnne Niemi, one of the two current vice chairpersons; and international expansion committee chairperson Petri Roininen. In the vice chairperson election, the current candidates are Jyrki Hakkarainen, chairperson of Varsinais-Suomen Yrittäjät and one of the incumbent vice chairpersons, as well as Satakunnan Yrittäjät chairperson Jukka Hurrila and Vaasan Yrittäjät chairperson Jenni Parpala. Hakkarainen, Hurrila and Parpala all serve on the board of Suomen Yrittäjät.
